The kart race and frituliade are the most interesting carnival competitions held in Njivice and are only part of the events that take place in Omišalj Municipality during the carnival.

The kart race is a descent down a steep street in which many big and small kart drivers show their driving skills in two categories, junior and senior. „Grand Prix“ Njivica, and considering that it is a carnival competition, there is no shortage of imaginative cards, each one is special in its own way. The race is preceded, as it usually happens in major competitions, by training where tactics are developed for entering the finals, followed by an exhibition race small and large karate players.

After the kart race, the participants and the loyal audience gather at the square where another competition takes place, but this time in the culinary art of cooking frit. It is a competition called "Frituliada" which many want to try, so many local masters and craftsmen gather here in an attempt to make the tastiest frita, which will be evaluated by an expert jury at the end.
