Important information
Vessels
- All yachts must have a registration (permit) issued by the Port Authority of Omišalj (t. +385(0)51842053).
- Prior to entering or leaving the Republic of Croatia, a verified list of crewmembers and passengers must be submitted to the border crossing authority.
- The registration is issued every time a vessel sails into Croatia or is brought to the country by land. It is valid one year from the date of issue.
- Rubber boats up to three meters in length with engines of up to 4 HP do not have to be registered.
Planing
- Planing is allowed within 300 meters of the coast of the mainland and islands, except in areas where it is prohibited. Jet skis are allowed within 300 meters of the coast of the mainland and islands, except in areas where there is a prohibition.
Important for boat owners
- Rowing boats, windsurfing and surfing boards, canoes, kayaks, gondolas, sandolins and pedal boats may sail at a distance of less than 50 m from the shore.
- In the water area next to the beach, yachts and boats must sail at a distance of more than 50 m from the fence of the arranged beach, or 150 m from the shore of the natural beach. Swimmers can move away up to 100 meters from the shore.
- Before each departure, ask about the weather conditions. If the forecasts are unfavorable, it is best not to set sail!
- Do not set sail without an anchor of appropriate weight and a rope at least 50 meters long and other mandatory equipment
- If you get stung by a fish, you should immediately squeeze out the blood and keep the bitten part in hot water. Seek medical attention as soon as possible.
- The discharge of oily and polluted water, waste oil, and any other oily or solid materials into the sea is strictly prohibited in the area of the port of Omišalj.
- Vessels and floating objects can empty solid and liquid waste, oily water, feces and cargo residues from the ship as well as all other substances that contaminate the maritime property only at places in the port or outside it where there are devices for accepting these substances.
