Our Lady, the patron saint of Njivica, is traditionally celebrated on September 8 with numerous religious, sports and entertainment events.

In Njivice September 8 celebrates the birthday of the patron saint of this place, the Blessed Virgin Mary. The religious celebration of the holiday begins with an early morning mass, and in addition to the numerous believers, there are traditionally also present pilgrims from Sužan who have been visiting Njivice for decades on that day.

It continues solemn central st. Mass, and ends with an afternoon procession of the faithful through the place. The local day celebration is usually accompanied by a fair of indigenous products as well as a folk festival in the evening. Sports activities are held on the eve of the holiday and include tournaments in bocce, water polo, tennis and chess.
