The path leads through a beautiful karst landscape filled with immortelle, a plant known for its healing properties and distinctive smell. However, in addition to getting to know the properties of the plant used in the cosmetic industry and cooking, this area of ​​the island of Krk will tell you interesting historical stories.

The position of the bay, as well as the immediate vicinity of Cape Vošćica, where Krk is closest to the mainland, and the Tihi Canal is only 500 meters wide, have made the bay historically significant. In ancient times, a small trading port was located here, probably also a customs station, while later archaeological researches prove the existence of a military camp. Numerous remains of a fort, an iron spear, as well as part of a Roman road indicate that the famous battle between Caesar and Pompey took place here in 49 BC. The strategic position of the locality is also proven by the remains of the Frankopan fort on Vošćica, as well as the later Venetian fort Maltempo.
